Indoor air quality

The air the house actually breathes

Filters, media/HEPA filtration, UV lamps, and humidity control. In Florida the air runs all year — worth having it clean.

Do I really need air-quality work?

Only if you have a reason — allergies, pets, dust that returns fast, humidity, or an odor. If your air is fine, we say so.

What actually helps in Florida?

Humidity control and a better filter do the most here. UV light helps at the coil. We recommend by what your home shows.

Homes and businesses?

Both. Offices, waiting rooms, and restaurants get IAQ work too.

Need the AC working today?

Homes, condos, offices, and shops. Call now — we answer 24/7 in English or Spanish. Same-day when a tech is free.

South Florida keeps windows closed for eight or nine months of the year. Whatever the AC is circulating — dust, humidity, mold spores off the coil, particles from a leaky duct pulling in attic air — the family breathes it all day. We look at your actual setup and tell you honestly what's worth upgrading and what isn't.

Exactly what’s included

  • An indoor air quality assessment covering your current filter type, coil condition, measured humidity, and duct integrity — before any product recommendation is made
  • Media or HEPA filter upgrade properly matched to your air handler and duct system — not every high-MERV filter fits every system without restricting airflow and stressing the blower
  • UV lamp installation inside the air handler, positioned to address microbial growth on the evaporator coil — which is South Florida's real mold risk, not the walls or the floor
  • Whole-home or whole-building humidity evaluation — the target is 50–60% relative humidity; above that, mold finds a foothold and even a perfectly cooled room feels clammy
  • Duct integrity check for gaps, disconnected sections, and deteriorated flex duct that pull unconditioned attic air — and everything in it — into the living and working spaces
  • Written recommendations before any purchase — you see what we found and decide what makes sense for your home, your budget, and your concerns

How the visit goes, step by step

  1. 1
We assess what's actually in the air

We pull the filter, inspect the coil, measure the humidity, and look at the ductwork. Most South Florida homes have a 1-inch fiberglass filter that's letting through everything it should catch, and a coil that's been growing mold since the last time someone looked closely at it. That's the starting point — not a sales pitch.

  2. 2
We recommend what fits your home and your concerns

A UV lamp, a better filter, and a whole-home dehumidifier aren't always all three necessary. Sometimes one change handles most of what's wrong. We match the recommendation to what the assessment actually shows — if the coil is clean and the humidity is in range, we tell you that too.

  3. 3
Install — clean and same-day for most upgrades

A UV lamp and a media filter upgrade typically take an afternoon. Duct sealing depends on what we find, and we tell you the scope before we start. We clean up after every visit — no open ceiling panels left for the weekend.

  4. 4
We show you what changed and how to keep it working

New filter size, how often to change it, whether the UV lamp has a timed bulb replacement interval, and what humidity readings to watch for at different points in the year. An upgrade only helps if you know how to maintain it.

Real South Florida examples

The kind of situations we handle every week.

Miami family noticing a musty smell every time the system kicks on

The evaporator coil had visible mold growth — common when a system short-cycles in high humidity and the coil never fully dries between runs. UV lamp installed, coil cleaned, 1-inch filter replaced with a matched media filter. Many families notice a clear difference within the first week of running the system.

Broward office, staff noticing dust on every surface and the air feeling heavy

The standard 1-inch filter was replaced with a properly matched media filter, and two disconnected duct joints in the ceiling plenum were resealed — they'd been pulling straight from the unconditioned ceiling cavity. Dust on surfaces dropped noticeably. The whole thing took an afternoon and a return visit for the duct work.

Palm Beach home measuring 70% relative humidity even with the AC running full time

The system was oversized — it chilled the air quickly but didn't run long enough to pull moisture out before cycling off. A whole-home dehumidifier added to the duct system held the humidity in range while the owner evaluated a properly sized replacement. No filtration product fixes an oversized system, but dehumidification buys time and comfort.

What drives the price (and why)

  • Your current filter — a 1-inch fiberglass panel and a 4-inch media filter are very different starting points, and the right upgrade depends on your air handler's specs
  • Measured humidity — South Florida's ambient moisture puts most homes without active humidity control well above the target range, especially during the summer months
  • Coil condition — a dirty or moldy evaporator coil recirculates the very thing you're trying to remove; cleaning the coil and adding UV addresses the source, not just the symptoms
  • Duct integrity — gaps and disconnected sections change the whole calculation; sealing leaky ducts often matters more than upgrading the filter if the air is bypassing it entirely
